Danone Russia net profit falls by 33.4% to 5.57 bln rbl in 2022

MOSCOW, Apr 24 (PRIME) -- The net profit of the Russian subsidiary of French food producer Danone shrank by 33.4% on the year to 5.572 billion rubles in 2022, as seen by PRIME on Monday in the company’s report.

Revenue increased by 9.1% to 92.883 billion rubles, and the gross profit increased by 21% to 20.535 billion rubles. The cost of sales rose by 6.2%, and income from shareholdings in other companies plummeted by 79.3% to 1.441 billion rubles.

In early February, market sources told PRIME that Danone chose about 20 contenders for its Russian assets, including Russian agricultural companies, Arab and Chinese investors. Danone was willing to transfer control over the Russian assets and the Russian brands on condition it keeps a blocking stake and retains an option for a buyback in 5–10 years, the sources said.
